I checked the weather several times today and there was no snow in the forecast for today. But it's pouring in Norton now.

Cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain and snow in the evening...then mostly clear after midnight. Lows in the lower to mid 20s. North winds 10 mph or less
Weather bug on my laptop is saying snow in higher elevations after 2:30pm

From WCYB earlier today..
"A cold front will move in today bringing a good chance of rain showers. The rain showers may mix with or change to snow showers later this afternoon (especially across southwest VA and the mountains of TN/NC). Little to no accumulations in the Tri-Cities, with up to an inch possible across the mountains tonight."
It was odd that this morning on WCYB it said the temp was 45 in Wise, but it was 28 at the house. Its rare that its colder at my house than in Wise.

There was a 10 degree difference in Coeburn this morning. 39* at the Chevron, 29* on the Guest.

Be careful and watch out for some black ice out there tonight and in the morning. Having some problems here and around the area with it. Roads becoming ice covered. Got one wreck already here in Lee, pretty serious from the sounds it.
On the temp. diff, one of those rare occasions you see a little more of in the winter. That can cause some situations like this morning too when you get rain moving in with that and you get some ice and snow to start. WCYB and WJHL were mentioning it last night. Heard a few wrecks around Keokee this morning because of the ice.
I remember some on here were talking about the area seeing more snow than usual so far this season and talk about the ski resorts. Just seen where Snowshoe had been doing very well so far. They're calling the early season a bit historic as they've seen over 70 inches so far. I bet they're loving that, haha.
